Gathering Overview

The Gathering 2025 brought together Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community members, healthcare professionals, carers, advocates, and allies to co-design pathways toward equitable kidney transplantation. Over three days, participants engaged in meaningful dialogues, shared personal stories, and collaborated on strategies to improve transplantation outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

2025 Position Statement

The National Indigenous Kidney Transplantation Taskforce is funded by the Commonwealth, represented by the Department of Health, in contract with the Transplantation Society of Australia and New Zealand (TSANZ) and the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI), housed within Australia and New Zealand Dialysis and Transplant Registry (ANZDATA). The NIKTT's main operations take place on Kaurna Country.
